Empowering Korça’s future leaders in technology
The KNK Community Foundation has launched the “Empowering Korça’s Future Leaders in Technology” project, offering scholarships to outstanding high school students engaged in innovative leadership and technology programs.
The Community Foundation “Korçarët Ndihmojmë Korçarët” (KNK) has launched the project “Empowering Korça’s Future Leaders in Technology”, dedicated to supporting the most outstanding students in the field of innovative technology. The initiative was inspired by the “Korça ICT Academy & Code for Albania” program, a 3-year national educational program led by Code.X, an organization created by Stanford University alumni, and implemented in Albania through alphaPlan Center, with strong support from the Municipality of Korça and World Vision Albania.
Recognizing the significant impact this program has on the youth of Korça—both in terms of professional development and in promoting the city’s strongest values—the foundation initiated a scholarship scheme. KNK will offer five scholarships of 80,000 ALL each to the most talented students to support their continued advancement.

Partner institutions have worked intensively to raise public awareness about the importance of donating to social causes and strengthening community solidarity. As highlighted in their announcement: “Together we can make a meaningful difference for those who need it most.”
This initiative is supported by strategic partners including the Global Albanians Foundation (Boston, USA) and Germin(Kosovo).
The origins of this project date back to 2019, when Code.X brought its youth leadership and coding program to Albania in partnership with the alphaPlan Center. It began as a pilot in Tirana and later expanded into the national program Code for Albania, which is now held annually in Korça.
To date:
600 students have participated
150 students have successfully completed the program
100 more are expected to graduate in 2027
100 participants are enrolled in the current edition
The program promotes critical thinking, self-confidence, community innovation, and helps close the opportunity gap for youth in Albania.
During the two-week program in Korça, participants work closely with instructors, Stanford alumni, and professionals from leading tech hubs in the United States and Canada, who bring expertise and an international perspective.
